The Iranian military unveiled a laser-powered air defence system amid heightened tensions with Israel and the US. The weapon, which the Iranian state media called a state-of-art system, was launched during Iran’s Air Defence Forces’ military drills. The equipment, named Seraj was unveiled on Jan 12 during exercises near the country’s Fordow uranium enrichment facility. Tehran’s army identified the system as only one of the layers providing the site with air defence services.During the drills, the system was tested against mock enemy forces and featured the deployment of various other defence systems too. Iran’s air forces carried out airstrikes using missiles as a means of defending the strategic and sensitive areas under their jurisdiction. The drills fended off the mock enemy forces’ offensive operations in Fordow and the nearby Khondab District. As per reports, the exercises had sought to assess the actual effectiveness of Tehran’s air defence strategies against potential hostile invasions. The development comes amid growing concerns over a possible attack against Iran's nuclear sites. n18oc_world n18oc_crux0:00 INTRODUCTION2:02 IRAN ADDS 1000 STRATEGIC DRONES TO ITS FLEET4:40 WILL IRAN DEVELOP NUKE BOMB DURING TRUMP 2.0?
